🇦🇲 ARMENIA – INTERNATIONAL CENTRE OF YOUTH COOPERATION (ICYC)

Myths and Facts: Unveiling the Truth – Preparation Activities Report

Introduction

The Armenian team, representing the International Centre of Youth Cooperation (ICYC), has shown exceptional dedication and creativity during the preparation phase of the Erasmus+ project MYTHS AND FACTS: Unveiling the Truth (MAF). Their work reflects the core mission of the project — empowering young people to challenge stereotypes, explore civic engagement, and uncover the truth behind social myths.

Guided by their organization's mission to promote youth cooperation, non-formal education, and intercultural dialogue across Europe, the Armenian group combined research, community engagement, and creative expression to contribute to the project's preparatory activities. Their efforts demonstrate how Armenian youth are becoming more proactive, informed, and socially responsible — debunking the outdated perception of youth passivity.

Research Contribution

The Armenian participants carried out an insightful research project on "Youth Activity and Volunteering in Armenia."
Their findings highlighted the evolving role of young Armenians in civic life:

  • Over 16% of Armenian youth are active in volunteering through NGOs, universities, and youth organizations.

  • Major contributors to this youth engagement include ASA NGO, ICYC Armenia, Center Up, Armenian Progressive Youth, and Future in Our Hands (FIOH).

  • Universities and community initiatives are increasingly promoting participation, leadership, and inclusion, especially in post-war and rural regions.

  • Programs like Youth for Community Development and UNICEF's Regional Youth Centers are key to empowering adolescents to take initiative in their communities.

This research emphasizes that Armenian youth are active agents of change, breaking myths of apathy and passivity, and redefining civic responsibility in their society. Here is their research where you can download it foryouth participation in Armenia.

Creative Output – Posters and Visual Work

In addition to their research, the Armenian team produced a series of visual posters reflecting the themes of youth empowerment, social participation, and truth-seeking.
The posters use modern graphic design and symbolic imagery to represent:

  • The unity of Armenian youth with the broader European youth community.

  • The power of volunteering and civic engagement as forces for change.

  • The importance of questioning misinformation and embracing empathy, inclusion, and peace.

These creative works were developed collaboratively and will be showcased on the project's official webpage and social media channels, enriching the visual storytelling of MYTHS AND FACTS.
